Formulae of Tamil Films
Many years back dramas were performed and actors emerged to film industries based on their performance. The stories involved and revolved within houses and gardens.
Then the bungalows and luck get rich stories, action thrillers, romantic love stories, discos and family stories came. People wanted to be modern and as India developed people also accepted these stories and the people in film industry got fame.
In the current trend abnormal actions, abnormal dances, abnormal stories with sex, abnormal family relationships, complicated love, Betrayal, frauds, goondas, roudism, abusive language, are used. We all know that the bad guy is not going to stay alive at the end of the movie.
Imagine a person with a peaceful attitude towards life. An average tamilian who goes to do his job in the morning has his lunch and comes back from job. He who reads paper, watches TV, spends time with family, has money, who likes media, likes music, who wants stories.
May be he wants to see a film which is romantic ok, not horror, not this kind of roudism packed but action packed, not tease but humour, not family trauma but normal routine family happenings, being literate he would expect literacy and knowledge.
Visual medium is powerful. Ask a yogi how he would feel when he watches a trailer of a Nazi war and a trailer of walt Disney or Mr. Bean. From a normal calm mind the happiness is welcomed and not the destruction. When already the todays tamilan has so many problems and suffering the tamil film industry can concentrate on the life of human beings in a way of melody, devotional, traditional, beautiful, lovely, sexy, clean, neat, perfect, smart, technological, believable, creative, thoughtful literate, responsible, honourable, respectful, meaningful and universal.
Movie should not only be considered a business alone but also as a powerful medium that can bring out a name to our country. Let this be an article to bell the cat and I own the mouse.
